Sorry for the late post - I blame the holidays for that - . Anyway, Cynthia and I made a short trip to Baguio in mid-November of last year. Thanks to the help of local birder, Jocelyn Floresca-Alberto, we got three lifers - the Island Thrush, Red Crossbill, and a Turquoise Flycatcher - and also some local avifauna. Island Thrush (Turdus poliocephalus) Canon 5D Mk III, 500mm+1.4X ISO-2000, f7.1, 1/400, on a tripod Red Crossbill (Loxia curvirostra) Canon 5D MkIII, 500mm+1.4X ISO-2000, f7.1, 1/500 Turquoise Flycatcher (Eumyias panayensis) Canon 5D Mk III, 500mm+1.4X ISO-2000, f9, 1/640 Philippine Hanging Parrot (Loriculus philippensis) Canon 5D Mk III, 500mm+1.4X ISO-2000, f8, 1/500 Citrine Canary Flycatcher (Culicicapa helianthea) Canon 5D Mk III, 500mm+1.4X ISO-2000, f6.3, 1/400 Mountain White-eye (Zosterops montanus) Canon 5D Mk III, 500mm+1.4X ISO-2000, f7.1, 1/500

Wow.... these are all very fine captures, Bob! Love the detail, colors and poses, especially that of my nemesis bird - the Xbill.

Thanks, Doc William and Tateo-san for your nice comments. Mastah Romy, Mt. Sto. Tomas is not that far from La Union. A morning sortie there would get you your nemesis bird.
