This bird is considered "rare" by many birders primarily due to its shrinking habitats and/or simply the difficulty of seeing a live specimen in the field. I have seen this bird many times in the past sorties. However, I never had a chance to take a photo showing key identification feature like the wattled yellow-green eye ring.
This is a severely back-lit subject. The photo was also heavily cropped but still managed to retain some details/bird features which marked an important milestone in my personal imaging goals.
Thank you for viewing.

Such an interesting bird Nilo. We saw it a few times and got some photos. But I do hope to see it with the crest up like in the book. It always had the crest down. Cool that you got the eye ring detail and color despite the backlight.
