There is this fruit that looks like a tooth. Small birds favors this fruit and the Sooty-Capped Bush Tanager (Chlorospingus pileatus) 5 inches (13 cm) in length is one of them. It is similar to the Common Bush-Tanager but the broad white superciliary has a jagged, lightning-bolt look to it. The fruit they are eating resembles a "Colmillo" like a dog tooth. It has a certain amount of sweetness in it.

For a while I thought that he was going to fly off with it and swallow it somewhere else where he feels he is not being watched.

It turns out that with so many fruits around him, either he does not see me or he is too engrossed with so much to eat.

1/250sec., f/5.6, ISO 800
When it is just the skin left, he lets go of it and takes another fruit.
1/250sec., f/5.6, ISO 800
After eating several of this fruit, he rest for a while and takes off only to come back an hour or so to eat again. What a wonderful life this bird has. Look how fat he is.
