Hi everyone, Haven't posted in a long time because I haven't done any shooting lately. Went out and hiked at a local forest trail and chanced upon this Summer Tanager on a creek bed taking a bath. Summer Tanager (Piranga rubra) 1st spring male Canon EOS 60D, Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS + 1.4x, 1/30 sec, f/11.0, ISO 800, hand-held

Very nice. I am in NY now and I got to see this bird in this plumage in Central Park and bright red in Cape May. Great bird photo.

Hi Tonji, you must have a lot of photos from Cape May. By the way, it is currently warbler spring migration season so look out for those small birds. May is the best month to go birding in Cape May, so they say.

Thanks Sir Ely. Your Summer Tanagers are great! Mine is a 1st spring male so it is just starting to moult to adult plumage.

Nice one Eric. I haven't seen one yet in my part here. Hopefully, I'll have the chance this summer. Cheers
