Went to Cavite to look for hornbills. Since none showed up, I decided to focus on the Phil bul-buls at a favorite spot. Many of them around and very active that day. Both are full frame photos taken October 2011. Equipment used: 1dmk4 300mm plus 2xtc Philippine Bul-bul - iso3200 600mm f/6.3 1/2500sec manual exposure (full frame) Philippine Bul-bul - iso3200 600mm f/6.3 1/1250sec manual exposure (full frame)

Very nice Mike.
ISO 3200 looks like you were set up for some fliers.

My favorite action shot is to have a prey in the beak of the bird. This one is just about to be bitten. Perfect timing and super bright eyes. The high shutter speed gave you a perfect picture. Well done Mike & Mabuhay.

Thanks Mick, Ely, Martin, Mark! Mark, thanks for reminding me about that (could not remember when I was posting). Enrique did describe it as 'Ballistic Transport Feeding'.

Super clear captures, Mike, especially the first one of the cockroach about to go in the Bulbul's mouth! I didn't even know that Phil. Bulbuls eat cockroaches.
