I spotted my first brown shrikes this season a few days ago. It's exhilarating that I shouted to call my Mom’s attention. I knew I have been hearing a noisy bunch of birds every morning. I still can’t distinguish the bird call of a brown shrike but I know they are noisy. I also witnessed how the shrike tries to fight with a fantail for “territory.” Waiting for a prey...
