Dear fellow birdnuts,
I recently received some statements of concern from PBPF/WBCP members as regards a couple of posting incidents that might affect the credibility of our group(s) and the photographers involved.
1. Paolo Dolina's Chinese Francolin photo first reported as taken in the American War Memorial, but which later turned out to be captured at Nuvali (apparently posted at FB).
2. Rey Sta. Ana's April 1 post re a Black-faced Spoonbill sighting at Candaba.
While I understand that the foregoing may have been posted in jest or as a joke, please remember that our forum has general viewership both local and international. Many people interested in Philippine birds look up to PBPF and its photographers for accurate and factual information.
Not all viewers can grasp a joke immediately. Many might misinterpret such posts as factual, and worse may forward such data to other forums/media as newsworthy information. This could result into embarassment for many parties.
Please refrain from posting such misleading information again so we can preserve the integrity of both PBPF and all individual bird photographers in gathering natural history information from the field.
