Ka Mastah, I've been having some concerns about my sharpening routine - very inconsistent. Seems there are days when I sharpen, I think, just right, then view the photo the next day and it's over-sharpened! Before I go to my Optometrist, is there a way to check sharpness via Histogram or some other more consistent method? The samples below are, for me, just right overall - but what do you think? Waiting for your advice! :-) Bobby K.

The sharpness of the areas in focus in these two examples are just right for my taste, Bobby!
I know of no graphs that we can use to aid us in assessing the degree of sharpness. Perhaps what you can do is to keep a few files (whose sharpness is fine to many viewers) handy. These can be your reference sharpness guide when processing and you're doubtful if you've oversharpened or not. Try to avoid processing when your eyes are very tired (e.g. - just after a long sortie) too.
