Edu, Neon and I, together with Nimfa and Pogito, waited almost the whole day at La Mesa Eco-Park yesterday for the naked ones, but they were too shy to come down to the now-very-few heliconia blooms. My consolation prize was some HD footage of an Emerald-Dove filmed in the very dim understory. I had to shoot ISO 3200 to 6400 for enough exposure. Likewise, the color of light was tough to balance because it was coming from the overcast sky and filtered by the canopy of leaves. Nonetheless, this bird becomes my 79th video-lifer. Any sortie that lengthens one's lifelist is of course a good birding foray. __________________________ Some HD footage filmed in-habitat of this dove.
