The sun low in the horizon at Paralaya gave some sporadic soft golden light whenever the rays pierced through very thin portions of the clouds. To my eyes, such "mildly filtered" golden light is more ideal for birdshooting than direct golden sunlight. The latter can be too warm for my taste, plus there's an abrupt transition between shadows and lit areas. excellent as always mastah! and the technicals are also a great learning!
Question though, for the "golden light" situation, which WB should work? Incandescent? or adjust on the PP table?

Thanks, Edu. I believe the choice of WB is situation specific (depends on the colors of the bird, environment and how low/filtered the sun is). For this one, the camera chose an auto WB of 5200 temp and + 30 tint (ACR 6.2RC interpretation). It looked too cold for my taste. I tried Daylight WB (5500, +10) and it appeared a tad on the warm side. I adjusted this to (5500, +15) to pull back the warm greens a bit. My color consultant concurred with my WB choice.

Exceptional as always Romy. It is so detailed that I can't stop looking at it. Thanks, Pao. How are the colors and contrast when seen at your IPS screen? Too dark, too bright, too saturated?

No matter what the lighting condition, the Mastah will always come up with a perfect shot! The colors and contrast are excellent, Mastah Romy!

Colors & contrast is consistent with your style for the past few months. So it is spot on. I should start using the Whibal before/after shooting.

Wonderful capture, ka mastah! and yes, soft, diffused light truly brings out more "even" detail on complex three dimensional subjects such as birds... but hard, direct light is no problem for the mastah either! Great work as always ka Romy!

You got the best of both worlds in this picture, both the scenery and the bird. I like the feather details best. Well done Romy. Mabuhay.
