Subdued lighting resulting into lovely colors and good illumination of the diagnostic face, great detail, nice head cock and eye contact, and pleasing environment - all these elements made this capture among the best I've seen of this endemic montane species.
Big congrats, Ely... your hard work and dedication are paying off big time!

When I started bird watching, I was amazed by the beauty of the birds that I saw and decided that the only way I can remember them is to photograph them. I know your personal preference is the one with the bird looking straight at the photographer with the two eyes showing. Heh heh heh. I personally like the one with the bird chirping and the beak is open. What I like best is that I was able to get close to the bird to take these photos.
