These clips were taken the day before we saw the Bean Goose. Pogito was learning BIF shooting with a 7D + 400 2.8 IS + 1.4x at Candaba, while I was practicing how to film with the 5D2. He caught a slow flying Purple Heron in the air. ;D Shooting info - 5D2 + 24 mm + MKE 400 mic, Candaba wetlands, April 5, 2010

Bravo Romy! What a nice little film you got there... i'm really impressed! It's a good way to teach us all the proper techniques of shooting through your son! I love the scoring, directing, and the editing, and the sound reproduction of your MKE 400 is just so clean. How i wish i had a dad like you when i was Pogito's age.. fancy filmmaking Romy! You are an "auteur" in your own right!

Its a beautiful lesson in bonding and lesson in BIF. Acquire, burst of 3, and continuous shooting. I hope I will learn as fast as your son. Well done Romy. Mabuhay.

Yes, JV.... the MKE 400 works surprisingly well for such a small package, especially with the manual audio controls of the new 5D2 firmware. It's great to be able to fine tune the sensitivity of the mic based on ambient sound conditions.
