I was planning to go out of town but could not get myself out of bed early in the morning and ended going to UPD after lunch instead. As expected not much movement during noon time. I started at NIGS then MSI, Frogs, FC with no bird activity at all in these places. Remembered that the Bignay and the tree with the orange fruit was fruiting this time of year and went to check it out. Surely the tree with the orange fruit, actually the fruit is green but the flesh on the seed is orange, have some fruits that are already ripe and this ripening episode could go on for at least two weeks. This is the place to go to if you want, in your face captures of LLWE and sometimes colasisi and CS Barbet. The Black-naped oriole was seen visiting the tree as well. The bignay tree has just started to flower and would take another month to get the fruits to ripen. Anyway, I just stayed at the parched grounds in front of the CAL building and here's my take. All taken with 5DM2 + 600 f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, Tripod-Gimbal support. Coppersmith Barbet ( Megalaima haemacephala) f8, 1/160 sec., ISO 640, Tv priority, EV +1 Philippine Hanging-Parrot "Colasisi" ( Loriculus philippensis) f9, 1/500 sec, ISO 1600, Tv priority, EV +4/3 Black-naped Oriole ( Oriolus chinensis) f8, 1/125 sec, ISO 1250, Tv priority, EV +1/3 Philippine Woodpecker ( Dendrocopos maculatus) f8, 1/250 sec, ISO 3200, Tv priority, EV +1, NR on BG

That is a nice harvest. I would be happy with what you got. Not only are those birds difficult to find but to capture them the way you did is an accomplishment. I like all of them. Well done Neon. Mabuhay.

Great UP set Neon. The Colasisi looks like a difficult exposure and it looks like you nailed it with very good details to boot. Eye detail on BNO is superb. I did not know they had blue eyes. Nice perch on the barbet and woodpecker. ISO 3200 on the woodpecker, wow.

Awesome captures at UP. I wish I could go but I am still taking care of a lot of things getting settled here.

Great shots, Neon. It is time to visit UPD. I never had a chance to capture the colasisi.

Very good captures Neon. I like the pose of the BNO.
Btw, the Colasisi appears to be an escapee with a metal ring still on its right leg?
