Nikon D3 + Nikkor 500mm F4 VR + TC14eII; 1/2500sec, f5.6, ISO 1600, SB800 flash, Better beamer, phottix remote cable, Feisol tripod and Manfrotto 393 My photo bag is packed with all sorts of stuff aside from my camera body and lenses. I carry with me remote triggers, long shutter cables, camera flash and a better beamer. These rarely gets used but there are times when you need it. This was taken in very difficult light, and i wanted to freeze the wings but not too much that it wont show the sense of motion. This barbet was bringing berries to her chicks inside the tree hole so everything was more or less predictable. I used my flash for some fill light and to help with the fast wing action. My remote cable was used so some privacy could be given to the subject. This was taken a few days back and the chick should have fledged already by now.
