Saw this sometime back but never got around to pursuing it. In the October issue of PAL's Mabuhay Magazine (p78) is an article about Malagos Resort in Davao. with a large photo off a flying bird. Note that the inset caption (2nd photo) labels the bird as the Philippine Eagle. Is it? (very large size is at balarila.smugmug.com/photos/256120132_quMiH-O.jpg)

the flying bird is a brahminy kite while the one on the glove is a phil hawk eagle

Hehe.... inaccurate bird ID is typical of most local mags and even broadsheets. Some years ago, I wrote one broadsheet about their incorrect use of the word cement when they mean concrete. They published the letter, but I still find that they use the incorrect term once in a while.
