Inspired by Rey's thread*, let's list our creative ways to justify to our domestic partner our acquisition of major birding gear. If one is single, he/she still needs to justify it to somebody, or at least to one's self. Hope the target persons (domestic partners) don't browse the forums, hehe..... *Rey's thread: birdphotoph.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=gear&action=display&thread=433&page=1REASONS WE NEED A NEW BIRDING GEAR(Please copy and paste your additions.)1. We only live once. 2. I promise I won't indulge in _____________ (golf, night outs, girls, etc.) after I buy the _______________ (500 f4 IS, 1DM3, 40D, D300, etc.). 3. Honey, let me buy you a nice bag (or shoes, or clothes, etc.)......

(emphasis on the word "unless", there should be a loophole there somewhere )

Anyways, I just got mine yesterday, delivered: a Canon 580 EXII flash, 5D camera (for portrait and landscape), a 3421 Heavy Telelens Support, a Manfrotto 055X PRO B tripod and last but not the least, the EF600mm f/4 l IS USM SET. Unfortunately, i cant test it right away because I'm sick with flu (supposed to be long weekend tomorrow). Thanks, guys.

To my spouse I'd say: Didn't you promise me to buy what I want for the past few milestones?
Her response: How many birthdays and anniversaries do you celebrate in a year?
My response: I celebrate mine, yours and our children's birthdays every year by buying myself a present for each occasion. All is fair in love (yata). ;-)
