PropJerry, our ever active birder/digiscoper/photographer, just reported this in the PBP egroup: "Des, Tina, Neon and I went to San Juan, Batangas. Spotted 2 Chinese Egrets and 7 Savanna Nightjars on the beach. Spotted 37 species in all. However, we did not get to see the river where the Philippine Ducks we saw flying very low landed; it was already high noon with the sun too hot. We were told that had we arrived earlier that day, we would have seen thousands of birds that roost for the night."Very interesting news.... especially for those who have these birds in their most-wanted list... Romy Note - edited to remove detailed location info.

I am planning on returning to the spot this coming Wednesday morning. However, I plan to be at the place by 5:00 a.m. I am eating lunch later in the town and, afterwards, off I go back to Metro Manila. If anyone is interested, tell me about it and we can meet along SLEX. Cheers!

If you noticed, I removed the location detail in the original post above.... we have some terrible news that poachers are monitoring our boards and galleries with evil intentions. Romy
