Thanks Eric, I spent the whole time last night finding the picture of the Chinese Egret's nest. Somebody must have borrowed it and never gave it back just like my bukidnon woodcock sample. I'll check on it in other storage bins hope it's there

Hello Toto,
The trick is in the size (total length), bill color, legs and feet. I'll send to you the details of the differences. Identification needs a lot of practice (right Mastah?) and patience. Start with the Greater Egret since its size is very notable being the largest white-feathered egret

The Chinese egret is not reported in Mindanao. Big congratulations to you!

BTW, we're very glad to see you active in the boards, Elvin. Mindanao is not very well represented in PBPF (most of us are from LuzVi), and we hope we can have more Mindanao-based birdshooters to capture the birds there, many of these endemic to that beautiful island.

Hi Elvin,
Congratulations!!! Probably Lala wetland in Lanao the second site where the C Egret recorded Mindanao. How big is the wetland? We are looking on some wetlands which are important waterbird and good site for bird ringing.
Cheers,
Godo

Hello Godo,
There was a banding activity conducted by AWB I think last 2000 after my discovery but I'm not sure if there was a follow-up because I had a "paradigm shift " when I had an opportunity to work in Bohol. By the way I got a very good site for bird photography in Bohol. We had developed the site with an aid from German Dev't Service. I tell you you won't regret it.

thanks for giving me this opportunity Mastah. Joining this group reminisce my colorful biodiversity expeditions before. If only Canon and Nikon provided me with a very good camera then I could have captured Mindanao's avian species in digital and life-like pictures.
