Master Romy and other gurus, I would like to know how to effectively perform the battery test for testing the lens' focus. I know that you need at least 3 batteries lined up at a 45 degree angle but can you guide me on how to do it the right way? How far should the batteries be spaced? How far should I be from the battery? What camera settings should I use? Do I test both ends of the lens' zoom range? Thanks a lot. ;D

Hi Eric, 1. Align 3 AA batteries about 45 degrees to you. 2. Set your lens at its longest length (if zoom) and wide open aperture, to get the narrowest DOF possible and thus any AF issue can be seen easily. 3. Mount the lens on a tripod/head at just past the minimum distance the lens can focus (from the middle battery). 4. AF on the middle battery and take a picture. That should be the one sharp. If the farther or closer battery is sharper than the middle, you have a misfocusing system.
