I submitted, too. But even if nothing was chosen from my entries, the fact that I had the confidence to join, that makes me feel good already. That means I already like some of my photos. There were 22 people who submitted and 80% of them are bird-photographer pros with superb gears for bird photography and who worked hard to capture the endemics. They all deserved to be included. I am sure there were more than enough excellent entries, the problem most likely was choosing from among the best esp. from Ka Romy's files and his disciples'

He-he. When the book comes out, it should probably have something like "Photos courtesy of Romy Ocon and wannabes!"
Happy to know that there're new names here!

Congratulations to everyone!
Volume 2 will have a very strong endemic showing as only a few non-endemics were chosen for mostly aesthetic and site reasons. We also had to look and discard endemics that were previously featured in Volume 1, unless the species was a specialty of one of the sites, due to budgetary constraints. This explains why some photographers were not included at all or have limited picks.
Thanks and more power to Philippine birds!
