Photographed an immature Philippine nightjar this morning at Palma Hall here at U.P. Campus. It hits a window, the janitor sees it before the cats, the janitor calls me up, I see it and release it. It flies a few meters and lands along the pond. I am using ISO200 to compensate for the low pixel density of my set-up. Canon 300D, Canon 75-300mm USM I, 1/80s, Handheld  |

I have heard a lot of stories of birds hitting windows. Seems like windows (with clear glass I suppose) are hazardous to birds. Good thing the janitor found it first.  |

Its a good thing UP is so aware of birds. I guess a lot of it has to do with you. Great job on the picture as well.

Thanks for the kind comments.
The guards hear them within the area at night time. However, I have not seen them lately. The fledgling/immature individual I have photographed is now somewhere up the mabolo tree. You might try the room windows along the 3rd Floor for a closer look. If you are around and I am not, ask Mang Weng, the janitor.
