I went to Ding's place again this morning to stake out the CCS. The starlings were a no show but the regulars kept us busy. I tried if what IQ and noise an ISO 6400 photo would look like, since I would probably be using this high ISO's when I have a 2x TC on the 600mm f4 early in the morning or under canopy where light intensities would be low. I guess when in need of such high ISO the IQ of the 5DM2 is not that bad for documentary shots. Applied a little bit of NR on the BG. f10, 1/200

That's fantastic IQ, Neon!
On the 40D, I even hesitate going up to ISO640, yet here you are with ten times the sensitivity.
600mm + 2x + clean high ISOs = there's no bird out there you can't reach
