A notion that came to my mind, is to take my wife birding sometime. And probably influence her to participate and sign "budget release" forms faster ;D But for this to happen, she would need to have either binocs or her own camera. I like this one.. www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Digital-Camera/26171/COOLPIX-P90.htmlWith features at 624mm optical zoom and up to 15fps.. this beats my D60 + 70-300mm setup. What do you guys think? Are there other P&Ss out there like this?

you may ponder too on buying her your dream DLSR camera, just think of the advantages I think there are now many superzoom PS. Canon has one (I think Sx10) and there is even hacks for canon PS its just a matter of time these hacks will be ported to canon superzooms. Unfortunately that canon superzoom cant be fitted yet with teleconverters, the powershots S1, S2, S3 and S4 (all 432mm) can be fitted with teleconverters from 1.7- 2.2x. If you can

Hi Edu, We have a p/s just like what bklim (mentioned by Romy) is using. Our TC is 1.7x not 2x. But ours does not do 15 fps like that Nikon. 15 fps is impressive, it should be a blast to use.

hmmm.. she does like using my D60.. taking the road of "buying my dream DSLR and handing down the D60 to her" is real attractive!
i was thinking of a P&S under the notion "what if she doesn't like it?"
Thanks for the opinions guys, greatly appreciated!
