WOWOWEEEEEEKS!!!! Haaaaay......I'm drooling in envy! Wonderful captures all Neon! Love the Hornbills in particular. Were all these roadside birding or did you have to trek a trail for these? Thanks Marts!! Yes, all roadside birding . Was just fortunate that the fig tree was fruiting. I was surprised when I arrive early in the morning that there were no birds in the trees only Glossy Starlings . But when I decided to check the location while on my way back from Sabang after eating lunch, the Hornbills started to fly to the tree ;D. Just an observation, different species of birds eat at different times Here's some more... Yellow-throated Leafbird ( Chloropsis palawanensis) Endemic 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f5, 1/100, ISO 400

He, he. Neon texted me that there were no birds in the big balate tree, only crows, and he regretted going to Sabang that second day. After a few hours. He texted again ... "I can already go home." With that text, I knew the special Palawan birds made his day! That's some birthday and Christmas treat for you, Neon. I can see you beaming with all the remarks in this thread. We beam with you. Your name fits you perfectly. You glow. But don't forget, Gloria in excelsis Deo. For His wonderful, beautiful creation, GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST! A blessed Christmas! telyd

Naks. Thanks for the pasalubong, Neon. This is the attractive Appias Nero (Family Pieridae). It always remind me of my favorite Magnolia popsicle. If you looked down some more, you would have seen the congregation of Appias maybe with Papilio butterflies in Balsahan. I'll give you a tip, and this always works. When you go to Balsahan, pee in a sunny spot, get on with your other birding activity and go back to that spot...voila, you have a congregation of butterflies feasting on your mineral contribution. Hey, it's about time we have our butterfly proboards. Before 2009 breaks out. Promise. telyd

Great set Neon. When I went to Palawan several years back, I was contented with a point and shoot and I can remember the different and beautiful birds that I encounter during that trip. Grrrr! Is there any Palawan + PBPF trip in the near future? ;D
