Finally!! I was able to find some time to bird Palawan ;D It was an adrenaline rush everyday I was there, this is why a lot of my captures are not that good. I was shaking at every bird I train my camera on. Some are keepers but most are just documentary shots. I'm hoping to bird again in this place soon. ;D Olive-backed Sunbird ( Cinnyris jugularis aurora) 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f5.6, 1/640, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, RAW, AI Servo, Manfrotto 055PROB, 393 Gimbal Head Blue Paradise-Flycatcher ( Terpsiphone cyanescens) Endemic Near-threatened 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f4, 1/80, ISO 640, Manual Exposure, RAW, AI Servo, Manfrotto 055PROB, 393 Gimbal Head Palawan Flowerpecker ( Prionochilus plateni) Endemic 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f4, 1/500, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, RAW, AI Servo, Manfrotto 055PROB, 393 Gimbal Head More to come... ;D

Thanks Rey, you should go there!!! My advice is you just shoot anything that moves over there as all the birds will be new to you except for the ETS, Egrets and munias Here's a Rufous-tailed Tailorbird ( Orthotomus sericeus) - I was just fortunate that it chose to perch in the open and sing. 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f5.6, 1/160, ISO 400

Just curious, what airline did you fly with and how did you carry the 600 f4?

Thanks Ka Mastah!! I flew with PAL on an A320 and A340 The howitzer was carried inside a Lowepro Trecker 600 AW, it went inside the overhead compartment with room to spare. I was ready to take it out of the bag and hand carry only the lens if they said the bag was too big and I could not bring it inside the cabin. ;D Here is My target species for this sortie, I was able to take a good photo of it on my second day so I was just enjoying the view the rest of the trip. ;D Thanks Ate Lyds and Adri for giving me tips on where to find this particular bird. Palawan Hornbill ( Anthracoceros marchei) 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f5.6, 1/160, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, RAW, AI Servo, Manfrotto 055PROB, 393 Gimbal Head

Amazing set Neon! My favorite is the Palawan Flowerpecker as I remember that to be difficult to frame. Congrats! Please replace my shot of this species in the online catalog with your shot as your shot is a lot more useful, not to mention - stunning!

Thanks Ka Mastah!! Here's a backside view. 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f6.3, 1/160, ISO 400 And I was doubly happy when the bird regurgitated and offered me a fig. It made my day and felt welcome for the rest of my stay in Palawan. 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f6.3, 1/200, ISO 400

Thanks Toto!! This bird is a bonus already if I saw it, boy, was I fortunate ;D. Due to the low light conditions under the mangrove area, I was forced to use a high ISO of 1600. A little bit of NR was applied to make this capture presentable. ;D This bird is huge, it almost equates to the Kookabura down under ;D Stork-billed Kingfisher ( Pelargopsis capensis) 40D + 300 mm f4, f4, 1/125 sec, ISO 1600, Manual Exposure, Raw capture in available light, Hand Held, Sitting on a paddle boat.
