Almost spilled my coffee again! Saw this guy's head bobbing atop the canopy just beyond my backyard fence. There were just two of them and they stayed for only a few minutes. But, if it'll be like the past years, they'll grow in number peaking at about 8 (maybe more) and will stay just outside my fence for an hour or two. Will keep an eye on them every morning and, when there's more of them and less shy, will let you guys know. I'd be happy to have you clicking away in my backyard. Feels good my favorite transient neighbors still paid me a visit this year.

No problem, Eric. I will post an announcement when the doves are aplenty. It'll probably be a weekend. Can I join for birdwatching instead?

Newsflash! A pair of the doves were back at 6:44AM and was still there until I had to leave for work at 6:55. They seem to be feeding on the tree's fruits/flowers. There are three of these trees so no threat that they'll run out of food soon. Will keep you posted.

Bobby's in town (Kintanar aka Bobby6425) for just a few days so teLyd, PropJerry, and I agreed to let him have a peek at the PCD early Wed morning. I'll observe if the doves are back tomorrow to confirm if it'll be likely 100% on Wed.
If you want to join, just PM me your name (not your handle)so I can let the guard know to let you in. I'll PM you directions. You'll have to arrive no later than 6:30AM. I can make some coffee (can someone bring donuts?). But I'll have to leave you all around 7 to attend to this distraction called office.
If you can't make it, don't worry. I anticipate the doves will be around for a some more weeks. May even be better to shoot it in Feb since sunrise is earlier.

Update: I counted 4 doves today. And they arrived earlier. Checked on them at 6:30 and they were already flitting about. Some Black-naped Orioles continually snuck in and out to swipe the trees' fruits. They were still there at 7AM when I left.
So Bobby and teLyd, and, maybe PropJerry(?) are all set for tomorrow. I recommend arriving at 6AM so we can have coffee on the deck as we scan the battlefield and plan the attack.
Anyone who wants to join, just PM me and I'll send directions. As I mentioned in my prior message, you can stay on later in the morning but I'll have to leave for work at 7AM.
If you can't make it this time, the doves will still be around .
