Got this way back 2006 with a 200mm, crop to death. There were two but one was horribly eaten by a monitor lizard (bayawak). Can't make out which nightjar it is. From the KennyG, I hear what's described as Large-tailed Nightjar all around the village evenings and dawn. Could it be?

Yes, Ding, It surely looks like a Large Tailed-Nightjar but this bird is ranging in Palawan. Would it be a new range record for this bird.
Then it would most likely be a Philippine Nightjar, from the birds' range.

Thanks, Neon. I had also labelled this bird as Philippine Nightjar. But if you recall the birdsound we worked on some months back, it doesn't match with the Nightjar sound described in KennyG. I think the sound I recorded then matches more the description of the Large-Tailed. I will try to roam around at night with flashlight and see if I can photograph this bird.
