We had a sortie today at Olango. Nilo and his family were there, so were Godo and Lisa together with Raul P., and we had a terrific lunch as it was also an advanced birthday celebration for Nilo's kid, Anna Angela. After eating we headed out to the new bird hide for some action, and we were surprised by some not-so-often-seen waders -three of them were lifers for me: Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica)Asian Dowitcher (Limnodromus semipalmatus)Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon nilotica)Good night! :-)

Excellent captures, Bobby! Was this with the 40D? If so, looks like it's not so bad at BIFs, great job in catching the BTG in flight.
I certainly miss Olango, haven't been there for that last three years.

Thanks Tina and Master Romy! Yes the 40D was used for the BIF's - all functions for BIF were pre-programmed using the C3 selection in the mode dial. Now I can switch from static subjects to BIF (complete with AF adjustment to AI Servo, +1 1/3 EV Compensation, and Hi-speed Drive, even higher ISO) by merely switching to C3 from my base settings registered at C1. :-)
