High noon is not be the best time to bird, as most of them are resting. But I'm just scouting this new (to me) birding site anyway, so it's ok. I found a squirrel along the trail I've chosen, and since there's no birds, might as well take a shot of this rodent. While stalking this bugger, to my surprise, I saw this guy: D300, 300/4 with TC1.4 (420mm), 1/500s, F/8, ISO 250, handheld, not cropped just resized, and made some global adjustments to contrast, lighting, color, and levels I found out later that he has a partner, and two kids (fawns/calves). I'm too close to make proper composition, and when they're in the right distance, I didn't get a good shot.
