While on my way back to getting paroled I stopped in Darwin for 2 hours and was able to practice my stalking skills as well as getting my fix so that the withdrawals won't be that bad. 40D + 300 mm f4 IS + 1.4x Kenko TC, f 5.6, 1/500 sec, ISO 200, Auto, Jpeg Capture. But before this picture became what it is on top it was like this. At first I was using the stamp clone tool but it took me a long time to clone all the branches and the transition wasn't that good, there were lots of circles that are obvious. Then I asked my son Tri to help me, what can he do to make the transitions of the circles (Brush tool size) to blend more with the background. Then he showed me the "Patch tool"!!! Not only that it blended properly you can do it in bigger chunks, like whole branch lengths at a time . The branches that are touching the bird, I cleaned it with the "clone stamp tool". It could be better but I'm just showing how powerful the "Patch tool" is. Cheers!!

The best way of using the Patch Tool is getting rid of the white droppings on the birds perch. Set the tool to " New Selection" and "Source" draw a line around the object you want to remove then click and drag the selection to a portion of the photo that has almost the same appearance. The tool will rasterize the borders and it will have a smooth transition, you can't even tell the difference. Here's an example of a BS.

I just tried it. It works great! Been using the stamp tool too, but this is so much easier.
Thanks Neon.
