Snipes are very tough ID jobs, but I hope there's enough info in this photo for Steve to come out with a positive verdict. Candaba wetlands, January 8, 2008 40D + 500 f4 L IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 1/80 sec, f/5.6, ISO 800, bean bagRomy

Idol Romy, how many kinds are there? isn't that a swinhoe? Hi Raul, The Pintail and Swinhoe's are very difficult to differentiate just from photos, but Steve might see a detail that can swing the ID in one direction. Here's another individual taken two days after the first photo: Candaba wetlands, January 10, 2008 40D + 500 f4 L IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 1/100 sec, f/5.6, ISO 1000, bean bag Romy

Romy, Will try and have a look the latter part of the week. Right now I am heavily involved in updating the Phil bird Taxonomy and in the short term my free time is at a premium.
