Hello friends,
Here's another installment of the the images taken in our favorite birding place in Cebu.
This moorhen stayed motionless for sometime. However, the AF of the Canon 80D picked his feathers from foliage without any problem:
Common Moorhen 05/14/16 Jugan Fishponds, Cebu Canon 80D, 600mm, f/4, 1/2500, ISO-400
Below are some of the Moorhen shots in the open:
Canon 80D, 600mm, f/4, 1/3200, ISO-800
Canon 80D, 600mm, f/4, 1/1600, ISO-400

Lovely series, Nilo.
I was just describing these types of capture in the Canon seminar yesterday. If the light is golden, the specimen is well groomed, the BG/environment is pleasing, the pose is dynamic and the AF placement is precise, even a not-so-rare species can be an excellent ingredient in cooking up great avian images. Well done!

Thank you, Romy. Yes, I always remember the Candaba trip where lunchtime is for sleeping This really makes birding interesting because there are many factors beyond our control. The payoff is huge if you get all the elements "just right" which is often the case.
