An early morning trip to Jugan was not without reward. Just minutes after setting up, this JPH snagged a fish and fought mightily with it before flying away. Got only a single BIF shot of it though, cause my AF was set-up for stills at that time (Single-point AF). Equipment: ESO 7D2 with the Sigma 150-600 Sports @ 600mm on a Gimbal head; Slik Tripod; 1/200; f/6.3; ISO 400; Natural Lighting: JPH with Prey by Grandpa@50, on Flickr A slightly blurred shot of the Heron in Flight (AF not yet set up for BIF) JPH In Flight with Prey by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Had a very good day with Osawa there today. :-) Merry Christmas everyone!!! Wow, great action excellently captured, Ka Bobby! Nice job in freezing the motion at a slowish 1/200 sec, superb exposure control as well.... 5 stars!

Thank you Ka Mastah, but I made an error in the shutter speed - it lacked one more Zero - and should be 1/2000. Hahaha :-) Here's one more shot from that series as the JPH was fighting with the fish: JpH with Prey by Grandpa@50, on Flickr It looks like the heron actually speared the fish right through it's mouth! Best regards and here's to a more prosperous and blessed New year - Cheers!!!!

Lol.... I thought the PH was moving in slomo to be stopped by 1/200 sec!
Yup, looks like the spearing path was through the mouth, with the tip of the upper mandible visible in the second photo.
The third image is even better given the full wing spread.
Great action, and amazing camera work, Ka Bobby!
