While I was shooting the LLWEs feeding on a fruiting tree the other day, I noticed one individual with no white eye ring. Upon closer inspection during post-processing, it turns out to be an immature one, as evidenced by the underdeveloped bill.
This is the first time I saw one. The Kennedy Guide doesn't describe the immature, and a quick Google image search turned out negative. I'm making a separate thread to highlight what appears to be an uncommon documentary capture of the immature.
Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni, a near Philippine endemic, immature)
Shooting info - Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines, June 28, 2015, Canon 5D MIII + 400 2.8 IS + Canon 2x TC II, 800 mm, f/5.6, ISO 2500, 1/400 sec, 475B/516 support, manual exposure in available light, major crop resized to 1500x1000.
And an adult for comparison.
