The whole Philippine Hawk Owl complex changed and there are now so many new splits. Luzon Hawk Owl is one of the splits. But not all the races under Luzon Hawk Owl are found in Luzon. Luzon Hawk Owl is now made up of three subspecies. Ninox philippensis centralis (Bohol, Boracay, Carabao, Guimaras, Negros, Panay, Semirara and Siquijor) Ninox philippensis philippensis (Biliran, Buad, Catanduanes, Leyte, Luzon, Marinduque, Polillo and Samar) Ninox philippensis ticaoensis (Ticao) I got some photos of centralis this summer. I like the lighting on this one. LUZON HAWK-OWLNinox philippensisDumaguete, Negros April 17, 2015 Canon 7dmk2, Canon 600mm f4, 1/10, f 7.1, ISO 2500, tripod
