Wow.... these are all topnotch flight shots, Bobby! Great timing on the first.
The 7D MII indeed is the top BIF shooter among Canon DSLRs, right up there with the 1Dx.

Thank you very much for the generous comment, Ka Mastah. I have not tried a 1DX yet, but I am already quite happy with the AF performance of the 7D-Mk2. :-) I also tried the 7D2 with the Sigma 150-600 Sports lens on BIF's - the AF is still quite fast and with enough practice due to the longer focal length, I think that such a set up can produce some amazing photos as well. Here's a couple of photos of terns with their prey using the Sigma: Tern Close-up by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Tern with Prey by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Tern with Snacks by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Whiskered Tern - Missed that fish! by Grandpa@50, on Flickr I had to use a tripod and gimbal, so practice is definitely needed :-) Best regards!

All perfect shots, Bobby. I tried to take picture like this but I almost give up. I cannot believe you technique.

If you noticed, the beak is starting to turn red from the inside. The whole beak turns red when they are in breeding plumage. Nice captures of the birds feeding. Well done & Mabuhay.

All perfect shots, Bobby. I tried to take picture like this but I almost give up. I cannot believe you technique. Tateo, the "technique" was developed over lots of practice and much patience. You can do it as well, but practice is needed. Don't give up! BIF shooting is one of the more challenging, but fun, aspects of Bird Photography :-) If you noticed, the beak is starting to turn red from the inside. The whole beak turns red when they are in breeding plumage. Nice captures of the birds feeding. Well done & Mabuhay. Thank you for your very kind comments Ka Ely. I do hope to see one with a completely red beak and in full breeding plumage :-) Best regards my friends!
