This female Pied Buschat (Saxicola caprata) is looking for a new partner since her mate was killed by a boy with a slingshot just minutes before. The male fell into some marshes, and while I shouted some vindictive at the kid, this bird stayed nearby waiting for the male bird to come out. I waited too. He never came back out, and so ... anybody got a Male Photo to keep her company? Canon EOS-60D with the Sigma 150-600mm Sports @ 600 mm; ƒ/6.3; 1/1250; ISO 400; Shot from car window with a beanbag for support: Female Pied Buschat by Grandpa@50, on Flickr Everyone is invited to post his/her MALE Buschat in this thread so she can choose her mate! :-) Mating season is almost here, so hurry up my friends!!

Great shot indeed, Neon! Seems like the other Male Buschats will have a hard time wooing the Lady chat now that your photo is setting the standard! :-)

Bobby, people can be pretty stupid. I really like Pied Bushchats. I have several around our place and they always are in pairs or family units. Sad for the female indeed. One particular pair is always near us and has been perching in the same place everyday for the past two years. What a waste to be shot by a kid for no reason. This is the male that always hangs out near us.

Thanks for posting your male Buschat, Tonji! Now my buschat has another male to choose from :-)
I most certainly concur with you - sometimes we, as a species, do stupid things for no reason at all but to see if we can really do this or that, and for what? In the end, we all end up losers.
Regards!
