BLACK-BELTED FLOWERPECKERaka Visayan-belted Flowerpecker Dicaeum haematostictumFeb 14, 2015 Bacong, Negros Oriental On our last trip to Negros we wanted to improve our photo of this bird. Thankfully it posed nicely and we got some shots. I forget the name of that plant. The plant was all over which probably explains why the flowerpecker was around. I ate the fruit. Nice not too sweet. Canon 7dmk2, Canon 600mm f4, 1.4xtc, 1/100, f7.1, ISO 500, RRS tripod, gimbal

Thanks Tina you should really go for this bird. Thanks Bobby, our last time it just gave us marginal photos. This time it gave us a good look. Thanks Romy, I am glad it landed on this plant. On the trees it was more difficult to get the right BG and light. This was eye level, so much easier. Thanks Tateo, I hope to see you again soon.

Another awesome shot, Tonji! are these medenilla fruits? When I first went to Negros these birds were molting and didn't get a good shot, hope to visit that place again soon.

Thanks Mike. I am sure you will get a great shot when you go back.
Thanks Neon. I can't remember the name of the plant. The bird is standing on the fruit. When the fruit is ripe it kind of pops out a bit. These plants were all over the place.
