Shooting owls at night is always a bit of a challenge. But they are so cool. We usually try to give the extra effort to find them.
I stopped using my flash with better beemer a long time ago, I don't like how it looks. And the flash rig is a hassle inside a tight trail at night. Too many things to snag on.
We used two kinds of torches in combination for these shots.
