Just want to share some of the birds I've shot during a half day transit at Perth, WA on May 9, 2008. This place is just 5 minute walk from the hotel I was staying.

This is a waste water impounding lake. They have this type of system all over Australia where waste water is collected before it is allowed to flow back into the natural drainage system. Due to its high organic content the water is green from algal bloom. This algal bloom supports a thriving insect and other lager invertebrates that in turn feed a multitude of bird species. So, clean is not always good!!
