RED-NECKED PHALAROPEPhalaropus lobatusWe saw a flock of at least 35 birds in Malalag, Davao del Sur. It is an uncommon migrant to the Philippines, but is common in other countries. This is my first time to see a flock of them. Previously we saw one bird in IRRI and one in Sibulan, Negros Oriental. These birds are not in breeding plumage, so no red necks! I was with Tonji Ramos, Christian Perez and Davao-based fellow WBCP member Pete Simpson. Thanks for taking us there Pete! iso 500, f 10, 1/2000 iso 200 f9, 1/1000 Here's a shot of most of the flock. I think there were a few that didn't fit into the frame. The one flying in front is not a Red-necked Phalarope! iso 320, f10, 1/2000 Gear: Canon 5DMark3, 500 mm, 1.4 tc, tripoc
