Saw this fellow perched after waiting for it for awhile. It landed with its back facing me so I decided to come closer when it sensed my movement it turned its head to look, flew right away when it saw me. This bird is quite large and it was said that occassionaly it preys on the chicks (chicken) in the farm, although can't tell how true it is. Tarawoods Batangas, May 2008 White-Collared Kingfisher (Todirhampus chloris) 40D+EF400@f5.6, 1/250, ISO400, handheld
