HOODED PITTA (Pitta sordida) Resident. This is presumably the sordida subspecies endemic to most of the Philippines except Palawan. Taken in La Mesa EcoPark on 6/10/13. For comparison is the Hooded Pitta in Thailand. Note that the crown is brown instead of black. Taken by JJ Quisumbing in Kaeng Krachan National Park, Thailand on 5/5/13. Fantastic shots. You have just proven how effective it is to use a hide even if it is more cumbersome. I hope I learn how to pick up your good ways of getting excellent pictures. Well done Ramon & Mabuhay.

Thanks, Ely. There is no question that a hide allows one to get much closer to birds, for better photos.
