Do birds sleep ? We're looking for the Palawan Scops-owl but we accidentally encountered this black beauty in pitch black. Since it's right in front of us at almost eye level with 20 - 25 feet distance, we made use of our LED lights to expose the subject. Wish there's a light source 45 degrees on rear top of the subject to capture the body edges of the insomniac subject to portray a 3D effect or rim lighting. Now , Do bird sleep or birders doesn't . Who is Insomniac ? BIRDS or BIRDERS. Coffee anyone ... ? Spangled Drongo ( palawanensis ) 1/30sec , F6.3 , ISO 800, Manual exposure in 3,310 Lumen LED light, Gitzo 4542LS support,Canon 1DX , 600mm v2 + 1.4xTC

I think we were the insomniacs and we woke it up. Haha. Interesting reflections, you don't see that as pronounced during the day.

Nice capture. I guess the shiny reflections are the "spangles".
