LANCEOLATED WARBLER (Locustella laneolata) Last weekend, my partner in BK Valley, Dion Pullan, photographed this uncommon migrant in BK Valley, Mt. Banahaw, using a point-and-shoot camera. This would be a lifer for me. Another reason to go birding in BK Valley. I note that PBPF's gallery of bird photos does not have a photo of the Lanceolated Warbler.

This must have been taken with the new Canon SX 50 which has a reach of 1200mm. The image quality is quite good for a point and shoot and I would presume that this has not been processed. It is certainly good to know that there are always new birds at BK. Good luck Ramon on your next trip to BK.

First time for me too! I hope you get a clearer shot of this one soon, Ramon, using your "real" birding gear :-)

Thanks, Bobby. Believe me if I ever get the Lanceolated Warbler in my 800 mm sights, it will be history!

My first time also to see a Lanceolated Warbler! Ramon, sounds like this will be a great project for you -- how to take an awesome picture of the Lanceolated Warbler in BK!

Thanks, Sylvia. This should be a target bird for you and Tonji too.
