Finally found the time to go back to Hidden Valley again. Unfortunately, like the first time we went there, I got lousy shots of the purple throated sunbirds They are so hard to expose because of the wayyyyy tooooo bright red on their breasts along with the fact that they are always moving around and the plant where they are at is a jungle of a plant with all the many, many branches going every which way. Had a difficult time with the light itself because the sun would come out and then hide again and come out again - sighhhhh Pardon me for the lousy photos but I really wanted to show you guys just how beautiful this particular sunbird is with all the many colors it has and it's shiny iridescent crown and throat. The first 2 photos are Male Purple Throated Sunbirds. The last 2 are females but don't know what kind of sunbirds they are - one of them must be the female purple throated sunbird. 40D + 300mm f/4L IS + 2x TC = 600mm ; f4-f/5.6 ; ISO 200-400 ; 1/80-1/125 ; MF ; hand held

Thanks Reyno and Mela Mela : As in superrrrrrr sweating to the maxxxx! Waiting and waiting for those beautiful birds to perch at the right branch and of course they don't. You know how crazy I am about looking for those purple throated sunbirds - remember ? HEhHEehHEehEHe Still not happy about these captures - I really have to get better shots coz I didn't do these birds any justice with captures like the ones above, most specially the males.
