Finally I was able to get the Red Crested Malkoha in the open and in good light. I saw the malkoha flew to a row of trees and knowing its character when it forages, waited at the other end of the row, saw a potential branch that it will perch before flying (gliding) to the next set of trees, and waited and enjoyed watching the bird forage among the tangle of branches. Red-crested Malkoha ( Phaenicophaeus superciliosus) 5DM3 + 600 f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f14, 1/500 sec, ISO 2000, Tv priority, Tripod-Gimbal support I should have lowered the ISO but I set it up anticipating the changes in lighting and forgot about it when the bird perched :-) Here are the other birds I got. White-throated Kingfisher ( Halcyon smyrnensis) 5DM3 + 600 f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f6.3, 1/100 sec, ISO 2000, Tv priority, -4/3 EV, Tripod-Gimbal support, NR on BG Finally a lifer, it was a long shot and early in the morning, out of several shots this is the only acceptable capture. Plain Bush-hen ( Amaurornis olivacea) 5DM3 + 600 f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f5, 1/100 sec, ISO 2000, Tv priority, -1/3 EV, Tripod-Gimbal support
