Pogito and I (with Arnold) went to Candaba yesterday to resume his BIF practice, this time he tried panning at 700 mm. We managed to get close to a Black Bittern by using our vehicle as a blind. ;D Black Bittern ( Dupetor flavicollis, female) 40D + 500 f4 IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 700 mm, f/7.1, 1/100 sec, ISO 640, manual exposure, bean bag, resized full frame: Meantime, here's Pogito practicing 700 mm at BIFs earlier. He also got near-FF captures of the Black Bittern with the 20D + 100-400 IS, but he hasn't processed these yet.

Awesome details Master. It's fun watching the video, I enjoyed it a lot. You should do more of your sessions with Pogito, I'm learning a lot just watching them. You should do one full featured instructional video on BIF how-to. That would be a God-send.

This is a great video for us to learn techniques from yourself and I found it most helpful! Thank you very much! Rolando

That's a beautiful rendition of the Black bittern, young Mastah. Oh I wish I'm a grand daughter and not a grandma. There's so much to capture Pogito. Any butterfly lifer? GMlyd
