Went to the Marine Base in Ternate Cavite today and did some birding on the way. Was very fortunate to catch some of the more beautiful Philippine Endemics. Here's a couple of my best captures, lots of birds there this morning, caught a few lifers like the Serpent Eagle. Ternate Cavite, Near Puerto Azul, May 1, 2008 Tarictic Hornbill (Penelopides manillae) 40D+EF400@f5.6, 1/500, ISO320, Handheld Philippine Serpent-Eagle (Spilornis holospilus) Inside Marine Base, Ternate Cavite 40D+EF400@f5.6, 1/500, ISO250, Handheld

Very good subject details, Rey! The transition from the in-focus subject/perch to the OOF background is a bit abrupt.... perhaps more feathering on the edges is needed.

Beautiful bounty, Rey!
And I had to spend Labor day getting mauled by my two grandsons (yes, I'm an old guy).
I agree with Master Romy. A bit heavy on the sharpening. But composition and saturation are great. That happens to me when I had too much upper (coffee) or downer (beer). He-he.

Now that you said it, I noticed it too. Was to too tired last night, I thought it was fine then but this morning it really looks so odd and over-sharpenned. WIll try to PP again. Thanks a lot for the comments guys. These are the type of comments that will really help in improving our output. Thanks Idol Tins, your observation is quite accurate, I appreciate your feedback too.
