After along hiatus from birding, this morning I was able to feel the rush again of seeing a lifer. Seeing my target species was all that it took to satisfy my withdrawal symptoms, the keeper will come on a later date . Rufous Paradise-Flycatcher ( Terpsiphone cinnamomea) - LMEP August 30, 2012 5DM2 + 600 mm f4 IS, f4.5, 1/250 sec, ISO 2000, Tv priority, Tripod-Gimbal support, 19m

Wow at least you were able to get it Neon !! I know Ramon went there a few times before he was able to get it.
I think, actually, I am almost sure I saw one in Subic along Botanic but it only stayed on the tree for a few minutes and it flew away. Did not include it in my bird list for the day coz I wasn't 100% sure that is is indeed that particular bird. What I am definitely sure of is that it is the size of a flycatcher and it is all rufous/reddish all over.
Happy that you were finally able to go birding !!!!

It looks like that every time you go there you get to see the RPF. If it is alright with you I will go there the next time you go there and maybe I will have my chance to photograph this elusive bird. Please text me. Well done Neon & Mabuhay.

Wonderful harvest, Neon! It was great birding with you that day. You really are the bird whisperer! You correctly predicted where the Rufous Paradise Flycatcher and Mangrove Blue Flycatchers would come out of the forest, based on where the 3-4 other birders went to chase them. You let them do the work going everywhere, while you and I relaxed in one spot and just waited for the target birds to come out. Hahaha!
